TRM

1984 TRM Freestyler in SE Racing Deep Blue, massive thanks to SBD, I love it. Custom Landing Gear stickies with Union flag underlay from Del, top man. Not quite finished, but near as.

You know when you sit on a bike and you get that view over the bars and it just looks and feels spot on? I built this just to sell it, but not so sure now  >:D

Love it. I used to catch a bus from Wakefield to Batley when the missus was at college there, in a bike shop there was one of these in the window and I'd try and get a look at it whenever I passed. Never thought to get off and take a closer look, just lusted after it for about five seconds every couple of weeks.
That seattube angle's wild, I didn't know they were so far over. Does it really need a layback, or is that toptube as short as it looks?
Also, I remember a test/review on these, either the first or a later batch had the BB height changed. Were there many of each? (Assuming you know a fair bit about them)

I have four, it was my favourite bike growing up. I couldn't afford a TA or Ripper and i'd never heard of a Quad  :-[  I only have one left to build, but might leave it as is. I read the review on the frame Freestyle BMX, June 84. That review gives details about Andy Preston and Mike Pardon testing the frame and mentions that the BB height was changed from about 10" to 11" from the ground AFTER this test (recommended by AP+MP). This was to appeal to a broader range of ages. I'm not sure that any f/f sold before the changes were made. The seat tube angle is not too bad, looks all the more lairy with a Renthal post. I'll put some pics of my others up.

The forks aren't the strongest design are they? I bought that one as a bare metal frame only from another splendid fellow on here. I still have my original from 84' plus a white one built and another frame with original forks (also white). Funny how people who've owned them seem very loyal to them and often buy more. A great frameset  :Great_Britain:
