Why were the trophies for BMX always so big?

I was racin at the ABA Grands in Oklahoma, USA, i did an indooor race in Wisconsin, got 2 x 2ft trophies, Race of Champs got 2nd 3ft x 2ft plaque and 6th 2ft x 2ft plaque, Grands was 4th (the one i pic) and 6th abt half that size.

Add 2 bike bags £2k woth of bike bits/vans etc plus usual stuff = 3 trolleys, 2 airport staff and a fookin extortionate excess baggage bill.
