ah heck i can hear the money trying to escape from my wallet
and get to Alans ......
that looks a lot better than the early pics
but as said before mk1 rear drops, motomags and full on decals would have been that extra bit special
still wouldn't kick out of your garage though, would ya ?

I'm gonna have me one of them.....the only thing I don't like is the rear dropouts look a little odd....don't like the step down ones much anyway but they don't look like the proper step down ones either.

That's a picture of one of the first show bikes, the gussets are on the wrong sides, so the hole goes in over and not out. Think they made 2 like that...

i suppose those they are cheap to make, all that steel!

I know a guy in the bike trade who has seen one of these in the metal and he said that other than the black wheels and rear dropouts, this repro is spot on.
He also said that they are very limited in numbers....I'm gonna get one, it seems pretty good value to me when you consider that a good chrome job can cost £150 easily.

Fook me, what do you want for £250. If it's built as well as the goose from 70s it's well up for a good thrashing.
It's also good to see the company that owns the Mongoose name tipping it's hat in our direction and looking back into its history, thanks for taking the time out to make this Ltd Ed, it's a nice touch and I like it.

oh yeh....it's cost them more than they will sell em' for to produce in this limited number.....lots of work has gone into getting those parts re-manufactured.

Also the decals don't look right - they're not prismatic.

they'd make money if it was a regular production bike that they were making thousands of....this bike has had to have lots of tooling made specifically for this bike and they are only making 500.
A run of the mill POS bike costs £150 using parts that are made for millions of bikes!
Retail price of £250, trade price of what? £150-£170?
minus shipping costs?
Can't see there would be any profit in it at all myself....nice of them to do it it you ask me.
Just carry on slagging them off if you like...then you can kiss goodbye to anyone making repro pads, stickers, other bikes etc...
Stuff can be made dirt cheap in China...doesn't stop people paying £150 plus for profile cranks and £250 plus for frames that all come from the same factory as the cranks you can buy for £50 and the complete bikes that cost £200.... whats in a name eh!
