How does this series work? Do we enter organised races, or have to organise our own? Are there age/dates of bikes or can you race anything?

Just thinking what to build! Does it have to be all period parts, or could it be an old F&F with some newer components here and there?

Races were run as a class in the north region series, rules were 1" headset and a caliper brake, aside from that anything goes  :daumenhoch:

It's a shame but I doubt there'll be enough interest in resurrecting this, many have sold their os bikes, some have moved on to other classes and some have packed it in (me included)  :-\

i think pre 93 f+f  was a suggested point,   and ns tires were frowned upon?

for me it was just to expensive ,

not the racing , in fact  the BCF proposed a nice deal for the OS class, waived license fee and reduced race fee ,  all good :daumenhoch:

but the overall expense of the day , depending on location of the meeting anything from £50 - £100  , for what amounts to 10 mins or less,   if your fast ;D  of track time   ,    good laugh with the OS crowd and rad members in other classes , but just can't justify the cost really

got the impression that the "serious racers" saw us as a bit of a joke too , up their own arses just like back in the 80's but that could just be my own observations   :LolLolLolLol:

They need a no manualing rule! Bmx's were built to fly :LolLolLolLol:
Hit it hard n see where you land.....Proper old school!
Today's tracks are big and can be severe unless you've got balls of steel and skills to match. MK is as flat as you'd get now.
I'd be up for it , but nowhere in EA  would do it, it's all too serious?

I don't have the funds or time to race a series that follows the norther regionals, I would however be really keen to participate in a monthly OS race get together. Just a laid back mates race type thing where we (for example) meet on the first Sunday of ever month at a track and just ride and have a bit of crack. Might be the easy going type thing that gets enough people into it for a proper series to kick off in time?

Just a thought.

What a smashing idea. We don't have to have an organised race, just meet informally and thrash at a track for the afternoon. Beer and cigs optional.

Ok so which track is the first meeting ?   Saturday or Sunday?  ,  maybe be nice to hit up some of the lesser know tracks , run down ones,  keep it  rough and ready and a  little more chilled  ,  if only cos i the best track in Doni has had the start gate removed now ,  :LolLolLolLol:

Ben actually meant Beer n Cigs Mandatory ,  will have to have words when i see him  :knuppel2:   :LolLolLolLol:

The only reason I suggested Sunday is because I know some folks work Saturdays. My closest tracks are Barnard Castle and Hartlepool. Dont really know any old ones Im afraid, but up for anything really.

Sounds like a laugh, but as mentioned I would happily go to a southern meet - being a southern softy and all that

Cheers
