I thought 85. But remember they did need to get rid of the old alloy hub stock they had. So all could be correct.  :daumenhoch:

i think you've answered you're own question there dave you can't argue with the advert as the looseball hub is there as stu says they were probably holding off the mass distribution till they cleared the alloy hub stuff , i thought 85 also but it seems late 84 is correct

interesting thread for once dave  ;D, only messing , i would say baseing it on your info as looseball plazzy front hub, metal rear hub still 84/85 then plazzy hubs back and front after that

Yeah that's what I ment. I should have explained a bit better. They must of had shed loads of alloy tuffs to get rid off before the plastic ones could be sold. You would imagine skyway and the shops would have wanted to get rid of those wheels as quick as they could. They were probably a good price. Hence all the bikes having them at that era. But this is just a pure guess.  :daumenhoch:

Dave :daumenhoch:

For Christmas in 1983 I bought a brand new pair of Black Skyway's from Surrey BMX

they were advertised as Tuff III's  ::)

Plastic front hub ,,alloy rear ,,loose bearing ,,, I was well surprised when they showed up , never seen em before .

Plus I don't think any other shopadvertised them as Tuff III's either ,,I think they only did it for a while just because they were the new style   :idiot2:

Earlier than you think
