Recommend me a chain
« on: December 11, 2011, 07:48 PM »
Hi guys sorry its a boring one but looking for a good chain for a stock 25/9 setup. Thinking standard chain rather than half link, something like a kmc cool or summat like that. What do you recon guys?

A reward for your attention  ;)

You got my attention...  :P

It might have to be a half link depending on the rear end length of the frame?

Shadow interlock V2 are about the best half link...  :daumenhoch:
2 minutes turkish...

Yeah, snagged the last one from winni's while then had them at a silly price. Fooking amazing in the flesh!
My first foray into new school and pleased its something a little different then the black generic stuff you see down the park.

Going to be my best christmas for a good while  :4_17_5: , hoping to get it in Jan's BOTM  ;)

Cool, nearly went for one myself as they were pretty much giving them away! Then my new frame came up so never went for it.  Like you say, something a little different  :daumenhoch:

Could be two new school rides in Jan BOTM then  :daumenhoch:

Christ if you are entering that knight of yours i dont stand a chance  :smitten:
Cant wait till they get some sith bars back in. Went for some cheap simple jet set bars to tide me over. May have to hold out on my entry until the siths arrive.

Thanks Betty, i had heard most modern setups will run an standard chain just fine and it was a fashion thing. What do you make of the Oddy bluebird?

LOL! They all look great mate.......as for the chain? Isn't the oddy bluebird a normal chain with a half link on one end?  This only allows for more adjustment, I think betty is saying it'll be to tight on a 9/25t set up??

As Pickle says you could run a normal chain with a single half link to get the length right

Fit have a length guide for chains/gearing according to this you might be ok with a regular chain

http://fitbikeco.com/frames/benny-l

13.25" for 25/9 without half link

2 minutes turkish...

Cheers Betty  :daumenhoch:

Too eager to get it built Christmas day to wait and try a spare standard chain on it. May go for the Shadow chain then there wont be any uncertainty  :)

They're very good by all accounts.

Stodgy has them in the RADBMX shop, good sellers, no issues.
