Looking to get brakes for a redline, what type of brake were used originally?

I think mine came with DC-1020's back in the day,
mine also came with a coaster brake so the calipers got wanged pretty early on, that's why i can't say for sure

(after all it was 1979)

Had shimano tourney with dx lever on mine instead of the usual DC 890
