never met noel back in the day but met him a few years back when the 'dirty sanchez ' mtv started being filmed. (grew up with the sanchez boys as did mark j on here) noel worked as part of the film crew and was in cardiff for a fair few months. he did bring his s&m dirtbike down but with me working and them filming all over the uk we never got the chance to ride together. did party together though a few times. will dig out some pics soon.

ah, just remembered i scanned and printed noels 2 page spread from rad/action bike onto a t shirt and passed onto his producer to wear. ha. they didnt know he was that good on a bike bitd. ha. brought back memories for him. i'm sure he's in my myspace friends greg.

I used to ride with Scott Steele and his mate Simon Burtles all the time... both Great guys!!!

we used to ride at the 'Fazak' bmx club...

I remember one time he came with Eric...

Eric was there 2 minutes before throw a 6 ft 540 out the 7ft 1/4!!

I went everywhere with them... Love to know where Scott is now??

apparently, Simon Burtles lives in the US??

er... well yeah... because judging by these video's they knew he was going to fall off his bike almost immediately got on it!

Did he ever make a trick?... staying on your bike was generally considered the hard bit! ... not being funny, but if I spun my granny round and round enough and then set her off in the direction of a quarter pipe I reckon she could do just as well...!

I know what you mean though dude. I've said it in the past, when he wasn't trying to launch himself in to space he could do some stylish airs. His lookbacks were pretty clicked, mainly because he was dorky footed, but still clicked.

Eric probably did crash more than most, but thats because he always pushed the hardest.

Eric was the first person I ever saw pull a 540... about 4 feet out on a skinny UKBFA quarter-pipe!
Also probably the first person to pull a bike hand plant on vert.
Yeah, he crashed a lot but the videos online don't do him justice.

It's riders like Eric Steel pushing the limits back in the day why we have young punx pulling big tricks and getting gold medals in the X games today. foam pits? I don't think so, riders like Eric Steel trying and crashing, are those who progressed the sport to what it is today. And he was a cool guy.
