Falcon - Anyone know their history?
« on: May 29, 2012, 08:58 PM »
Hi all

I am finally getting a Falcon ProStyler off a list member (ill never be able to afford a Kuwahara Exhibitionist so this is the next best thing..)  There seems to be bugger all info about Falcon in the net.  Were they an off shoot of Halfords?  I found a brochure saying "exclusive to Halfords" for some Falcon BMXs.

The company name is actually "Falcon Pro"; was there anything "Pro" about them?

Thanks for any info..

Paul

Decent bike company from Brigg in North Lincs, I think their cromo bikes were made in Japan. My first racebike!

Pretty sure the ProStyler was mild steel.

Hey all - my ProStyler arrived today.  Pretty chuffed with it..

I think it might be Cromo as the frame weights 5lb 11ounces compared to a Supergoose @ 5 5 (the only old school frame weight I can find in the archieves..)  So, the ProStyler is 170grams heavier but this is freestyle frame compared to a race frame.

Anyone got the weight of a old school frame?  I believe the only way you can "guess" if a frame is cromo verse regular steel is going to be based on weight..??

ta,

Paul
