Haro vector bars
« on: December 10, 2014, 08:11 PM »
Whats the crack with all these new VECTOR bars ???

I know Haro have re-issued the sport with um on, but the bars are all over ebay for £90 ish :-[ Bit of a downer when you paid a lot more for an 80's set!

Has anyone got both the originals and the new ones, are there any differences???

You can buy the bars seperate I think for around £120,which puts them within reach for a lot of people,as they were one of the harder to get sets of bars.

I think they finish off any Haro freestyler at the end of the day. Fekkin lovely.

Incidentally i need to ask, has any one used a Potts modd on these successfully?

New bars are stamped at least but it doesn't look like they have been 'improved'.

I've got an original set of Vectors, which look the part on an Haro. Thanks bmxbandit77 for the advice, I was really wondering wether you could tell the OS from the NS? At least with the new sport frames there is a clear difference.

I run mine with a potts ;) works fine.

The gutting thing is that the reproduction copy bars were selling for £200 a set last year before Haro dropped these in to the marketplace at £99...

Fekking gutted to be fair...

Yeah that is a shit :-[ But to be fair, it ain't so bad when you've got a bike that looks like that. Never seen that baby before, fooking gorgeous fella. How did you get the OS skywys so white. Mine are a little creamy :(

I had them aqua blasted up in Doncaster , its not a bad finish but it leaves them a little textured... If i still have it in the summer I think i might sink them in peroxide for a few days to get them super white & i'll polish up the alloy hubs with a scourer to get them back to more of an OG finish.

the wheels were originally like this:

Still a little creamy next to a new set:

And this is how the hubs ended up as he didnt have a sustainable way to protect them:

Overall more than happy with the results but i think peroxide is the way forward..

Some gorgeous HAROS there guys!

I wasn't very clear on the new date stamps. On the bars where you normally slide the grips on ( u-oh might have to finish myself off!) theres Haro stamp on one side and 2014 on the other. They are very light stamps so you could easily miss them on casual look.

The rumour is the 2014 Haro sport bikes have Vectors that will only fit that bikes forks and nothing old school due to being slightly larger diameter shaft., however the 40 chrome sets imported will fit the old school forks as they are about a 99% accurate remake of the original ones  :daumenhoch:  ::)

Yes yes you is correctomondo there. I rang up Radbmx shop to check then bought 3 sets!
I forgot to not get them sent home so I had some explaining to do. Fortunately it looked like just one set of bars so sorta got away with it! 😉

We've all been there chap ::)

So if I'm not being a complete numpty, what we're says here is. In the coming months / years that people move these NS vector bars on, some will not fit an OS set of forks? ???

The vectors bought on their own will fit as 21.1mm quill shaft (But please ask in case).

The ones that are included on say a Dominguez tribute Haro Sport I heard won't.

BUT

having a quick scan on t'web and most sites are stating that the forks on the tribute sport are 1" threaded.

All I say is if you're not sure ask the seller to be sure to be sure. 😉

I have a set of original ones, when the new ones came out I enquired about them. A lot of people said they are a lot different from the original ones. I.e the size of the bars is ment to be different, top of the stem shaft is different as well.

21.1 standard bmx

22.2 road bikes and 90's mtb

both are classed as 1"
