Im hopefully getting a frame soon, and just wondered if this United build kit was any good?

seems a tad expensive to me $:-\$ for that sort of money i'd rather buy custom gear from whatever company you like?

As above have all said. They are for people with too much money and no imagination. You can buy the best quality parts second hand and build a top notch rider for a lot less than that.

Astonishingly naive of United / Source pricing the kit so high, really.

That kit could have been a fantastic way of introducing peeps to custom builds, and drawing new customers into buying a high end custom frame from them.

I reckon with the right pricing structure that kid could go a bomb. But, some peeps are just plain greedy, so there you go......

£529 for the kit, or, as Rob has pointed out, £599 with a nice frame thrown in and built up. Plain daft.
