Skyway T/A final changes, inclu tuffs 29th Nov.
« on: November 21, 2009, 04:05 PM »
Hi folks :)

Well for me this was BMX bitd, being influenced as a kid by the numerous ads on the back of BMX Action, pics of  Bob Medrano, Andy Patterson, the curb dogs etc etc etc, so finally to get hold of a T/A f&f 25 years later, well words can't describe :smitten:

Purchased the f&f back in March09 (yeah a while ago) from Lee (PK Radman  :4_17_5:), did a quick build for MK09 but was never happy with the version, so has taken me till now to get it 'right' I think?

So of all days today, with it persisting down, dull lighting, and bazillions of leaves to sweep off the drive!! I took some pics. Feel free to comment, good, bad, indifferent, thoughts/changes/recommendations. It's by no means a carpet queen/era correct, just built to my liking and with costs in mind....not easy with a T.A.

Not sure if spokies suit ::)

2 contrasting lighting shots:

Parts rundown:
USA 7/84 straight bridge, skyways logos still visible on dropouts/forks
SR Stem
EZ MKII Bars
Sugino Cro mo crank
Sakae spyder
Sugino chainring 44t
MX 1000s
MX seatclamp (copy)
KKT Pedals
Sharp BB
Skyway Designs Padeset
Generic chain
GT Seat post
Peregrine seat
Skyway logo dicecaps
Cheng shin tyres(shhhh!!)
48 spoke rims (not sure of make)
ODI lever covers
Ame Grips

Looks nice :daumenhoch: dont like 48's personally but not adverse to a sweet set of 36's on a TA ;)

Cheers for all the comments, no problems whether it be positive or constructive comments/opinions, we're not all the same so  I'm cool and welcome the feedback, nice to see some differing views :daumenhoch:

Believe me, it's had a never ending change of parts before these pics so i have been headscratching about it but I suppose the beauty of BMX builds is that items can be easily changed around, at the mo this incarnation was looking about right for me.

Thought I'd try something a bit different with the spokes (and yep it's light as fook) but tend to agree T/A with tuffs is the proper look so can see where peeps are coming from. Just looking at the f&f on it's own makes me drool, don't ya just love a T/A :smitten:

Thanks guys and for expressing your opinions, not offended........ :P :LolLolLolLol:

I like it mate , it's something diferent :daumenhoch:  you have built it how you want it and that's what matters imo  ;)

Maybe in time and as funds allow you will 'tweek' it here and there , that's part of the fun isn't it  ???
WANTED : Old school BMX patches/sew on badges ......  please  :)

i do love a TA, i have to agree tuffs on a TA and first rule of thumb grips and seat same colour so a white seat or black grips is required  :daumenhoch:

Re: Skyway T/A Completed - update 24/11 (seat choice of 3, pics)
« Reply #15 on: November 24, 2009, 07:07 PM »
Ok, general consensus is the seat is the first item to ditch.....and having had a fresh look, I tend to agree. Boy this T/A is bugging me, having difficulty in deciding the look ???

Fortunatley, just happen to have 3 white seats lying about, as you do  ;D............but which one has the 'x factor'?

Hutch Tricktop (white/black)
A dominator type branded 'Free style' (all white)
Cionlli (that's what is says..Italian?) (white/red)

As ever, suggestions welcome please, sort of going for the middle one, seems 'less cumbersome' for a T/A  ::)

Cheers radsters

Out of those 3 I would go for the middle one .  Think it needs to be plain White  :daumenhoch:

SO much better. I'd say it's 99% there. Two things left to do - put the chrome post back on, then take the plunge and buy a white Elina with the red lightning bolts and you've nailed it. A white Elina will probably cost the sort of money that would cause your misses to have a defcon 6 spaz if she ever found out how much, but it's definately worth the risk. Your T/A is crying out for one.

You know I'm right...  ;)
