hi.

Am thinking of getting a new rear 36 spoke 24" wheel. i have now a 48.

12 cruiser spokes, will i be saving much weight?

And rims. any good or bad views on Alienation rims?

  Percentage wise it`ll be a decent weight saving but not so you`d notice.I`m running a front Alienation rim but for rear I`d go for something with a double wall and welded seam.

The weight will be nothing compared to the strength you are losing. IF you have very good rims and can maintain your wheels properly (keep them spokes nice and tight) then you may be ok. There are better ways of saving an ounce than comprimising wheel strength.

 I dont think its worth it now. When online i seen the new cassette hub will be heavier than my f/w set up. And will have to buy a new brake for the same chainstay length. New rim is low profile, my one (an old mx22) is high.
Waste o money!
