prep and paint for a chrome frame

im looking to paint a chrome frame with some rattlecans
what treatment would i need to do to the chrome before putting on the primer

I didthis last week, good sand down with rough sandpaper, several coats of self etching primer, several coats of paint and leave it a week to cure before doing anything with it, it'll still peel and chip tho after a while.

I did this last week too.. sanded, primed, used plasti-kote as paint, but it still came out a bit rough.  Frame has gone to powdercoaters to get a decent finish.  should pick it up tomorrow. will post pics when I get it

Just had a chrome frame powdered by SuperBikeDan, the finish is pukka and everyone on rad would recommend him!

I'd totally recommend powdercoating over rattlecan.. and by the time you get all the wet/dry paper/primer/paint/lacquer/effort, there aint much difference in the price and the finish is far superior and much more robust
