I can't think how many times i've watched that video now... so wanted to be there If anyone says old school is dead they are very very wrong PERFECT!Me, Chris and Dom all got a mention and i still can't take in how involved we ended up getting with the whole event. To be honest i didn't know what to expect from the whole thing, It all came together over a few emails with Xavier Mendez, a good friend of Mikes, he basically asked me if he could loan a bike to Mike, then i mentioned we could bring a few bikes to display, next thing i know, The whole Display is going over that me,Chris and Dom done at MK last year, but the end result was amazing, Our display became a base for Rons,Dave's,Brian's and Mike's bike and we ended up rebuilding half of Ron's bike and helping out Dave with a seat for his master (straight out of Dom's spare parts box ).Then we had the guys come over a few times and masses of people follow,so the Display become packed with people wanting autographs. We had the Craig Campbell looking around, Mat Hoffman, and of course Bob Haro and the other guys (display team) spent alot of time looking and hanging around. Ended up spending alot of time talking to mike, just sitting around looking through old Freestylin mags and others ,talking about the bikes and working on his bike i done ,making a few adjustments, Mike only used it for riding in though as after a bit practice felt he was more comftable on Brian's bike as it had newschool bars and tyres that he was used too now and he didn't have much time on the replica to practice on those Knobblies,Lol.Everyone i have mentioned were so cool ,really nice people and they all seemed blown away with the set up, Dave Nourie said" I need to get a factory ride with you guys now"...LOLWe had people come up to us from all over the world thanking us for bringing the Display to Germany, they hadn't seen anything like it.Then there was the demo, using Doms Van for the guys to come out, and then running around sorting Rons puncture at the beginning of the display, then Craig knacked Brians bike, and Dave's coaster bolt fell out,so to be honest i ended up missing parts of the display, but hell it was exciting to be so involved....and as Pete says, the whole thing was emotional and i can't tell you what it felt to watch those guys ride...Unfookingbelievable.
2 questions......Did anyone ask him what he thought of the 2009 rep Gen 1 (dissapointing)?Did bob ride?I wonder if the worlds has given him a taste to get into the new skool scene. Ive heard the Skyway team are appearing next year!
