85 Streetbeat - 1st Build & Now my Daily Rider.....
« on: July 08, 2009, 03:17 PM »
Fellow Radsters,
My 85 Strretbeat is my 1St build and was going to spend it life as a carpet queen, but with the weather being the way it has been over the last few weeks she was beggin to be riden, so she is now my daily rider  :daumenhoch:
85 Street Beat - Serial # 0022717
NOS Tange TRX Forks....waited and waited but could find a skyway pair  :-[  thx Mark
NOS AME Grips in White but now dirty.
NOS Skyway Gen 2 Bars
NOS Sugino GT Crank
NOS Beartrap Bottom Bracket
Survivor Bear Trap II headset in Whte
New Coloured Tuff II's in Pale Blue
Seat Post
Survivor Peregrine Seat in White
NOS MX 901 Brakes
Shimano DX Pedals

Everything You see in the bike has either been painted or powdercoated (bar headset) by the legend that is Super Bike dan  ;) A top bloke and a patient one at that :daumenhoch: The  blue is a colour match to the wheels and looks just incredable
Decals by del who also gave me some sound advice.
A Big Big thanks to you both

Dan i had a couple of falls on the girl so will be in touch about getting some bits redone.

As i said a 1st build and dailyrider..I know its not 100% and I know I need a seat clamp (anyine with a white MX Clamp spare pls pm me!!!) but she is mine and i love her dearly  :smitten: Please been kind with comments but a bit of contructive critism has done no one any harm.
Thx

Looks like a proper seat clamp, is it?  I thought that frame was 22.2mm seat tube?

You're right matie! Had a cheap crappy donut style white clamp on there and it broke when tightened up, despearte for a ride went to my local shop who basically schimmed the clamp you see here to give it purchase. Tempory measure until i get my MX in white

As I said SBD done a top top job on the colour match and the paint, when i got the wheels from California i was really dissapointed with the finish  :-[ it was almost as if the colour hadn't mixed properly with the plastic before it was moulded....Dan has taken the colour from the very centre of the wheel where the colour was at its best...
Dan  :4_17_5:
I just wish we could get a powder finish that matched cause i keep chipping the fook out of this paint will all my falls!
