What the postie delivered last week!
« on: February 19, 2006, 09:34 PM »
Couldn't believe it when this came up on the bay so bid and fired off an e.mail to see what he would take and got a result!

Overall in very good nick, bike and especially the cranks don't look like they have been used much at all.

A few snaps of as is

Not much work needed to tidy but it does need pedals. I have a few pairs of XC II' bit don't think these would look right, what do you guys think??

Yeh, nice one. I threw him £300 on email as soon as it came up, you must have went big to tie that down.

Bren.

Bren,

I wondered who it was who offered the 300. I had asked him what he wanted before your offer came in though. I spent more than the 3 but less than what my maximum bid had been.

Orb, the alloy is another spare Aplina rear for my car.

I was just making a chance offer, I already have an 83 GHP Pro, just thought a long would look nice next to it ;).  What year is that one and is the fork drilled for a front brake?

Bren,

Does the serial number make it an 83? The fork is undrilled.

Bren,

Thanks for that. I'll post a pic of where the seat stays meet the top tube as the tt seems to be butted (ie larger diametre) at that point.

You can't quite see what I mean from this shot.

Actually, having loked closer at the whole bike pic you can just make out the top tube get bigger about and inch or so before it joins the seat tube.

Sorry Neil, I guess I have some good karma come my way, by you being on hols at the time!

How's the Carerra II coming on? I'm still waiting on a couple of parts before building mine up.

That's sweet as a nut and a couple of choice parts. Nice early (square cornered) red anodised DK stem.

I know what you mean about the top tube, they were squashed  into an oval shape at the seat tube junction, so from the side on the tube looks taller at that end.
