You cant ride on nylon washers. As soon as you tighten up they just break.

You can, you just have to get the right ones  :daumenhoch:

Don't get the crap ones from B&Q, Homebase, etc, they are too thin. Track down some quality thicker ones which you can then tighten as much as steel washers and can ride on.


surely they would damage a painted frame then just as much as steel washers, and defeat the object of using them....   ???

i was thinking the same as one big back wheel landing and bang forward it goes . bitd i always had wheels move forward untill i got wheel clamps ie that clamp on frame

I guess thick nylon tensioners, if they existed, could be useful :-\ ??? (if I remember right tensioners also have to sit against the frame).
So where would you get the thicker nylon washers from? It seems these might be OK to ride on but maybe not for riding hard :shocked: :coolsmiley:
