Ahhh that explains it! the best thing to do is take it to your LBS as they should have a tool for removal.

That freewheel should be fine as a replacement but interested to know what size chainwheel you have?

The sprocket thingy is 18T and the chainwheel is 40T :)

Might want to go with a 16t if you plan to ride it & want to get anywhere! ;)

That link to the dicta FW's on Ebay is showing the back side of the freewheel, the other side of it has the cut outs to insert the correct tool for removal :daumenhoch:

You could crush it in a vice to remove it but you risk damaging the hub body threads if your not careful mate....

What is wrong with 18T then?

I dont have a vice :( and im selling the rims so need to keep them in good condition.

If 18T is no good shall i just leave it on you reckon? (total newbie when it comes to the techy stuff as u can tell)

There's nothing fundamentally wrong with 18t it's just that the bigger the freewheel the more pedalling you have to put in to go faster :daumenhoch: especially as you have a comparitively small sprocket of 40t Standard gearing would be somewhere close to 44-16 for a 20" wheeled bike but it's horses for courses & if you like the way it rides, then its right :daumenhoch:

Does the existing one still function correctly?

Yeah it works fine, just hassle to get it removed really.

How easy would it be to but it back on (or one of the same brand) onto a new hub??
