The Works in Leeds
« on: November 27, 2008, 11:05 PM »
Choices choices choices...

Working in Bradford next Thursday and will be driving back late afternoon to Cheltenham. I was thinking of dropping in on Creation but someone suggested the Works in Leeds.

Since I'm going to the Xmas do at Creation next Saturday along with having gone tonight I was thinking this may be a good idea.

Anyone been to the Works recently? Anyone planning on being there next Thursday (4th Dec)? What's the atmosphere like towards "elderly novices" who can't tailwhip or bumpick??

Cheers.

Good park and friendly locals.... go enjoy....  :daumenhoch:

I've been a couple of times when i've been working over in yorkshire if you go at teatime you'll have the place virtually to yourself...  :)

Video link don't work  :-\

I've just got a new job and the head office is based in Leeds. So now I've got my new ride sorted I'll poping along  :knuppel2:

Is it ok for novices ? or should I say people who've had a 25 year break ?
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

"What's the atmosphere like towards "elderly novices" who can't tailwhip or bumpick?? "

Bushwacked- I feel like that too; I've been mincing around this site for ages and just never had the knackers to go anywhere apart from the council ramps in Northallerton a couple of times...

Scared of injury?  Maybe.
Scared of enjoying myself?  Probably.
Mrs Timmeh scared of both of the above?  Defo!!

In my experience chaps if you turn up at any skate park, as long as you get in there, take your turn and have a go the locals/youngsters are more than happy to let you ride and might even give you some pointers.

"hey mate that bike looks prefect for whips with the seat slammed, you don't need them brakes weighing you down and holding you back though"

errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... not this week....maybe next.

:LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:

though i must admit a skater nearly got his board rammed up his arse for saying "don't leave you f***ing bike lying there" when i put my bike down for like 10 seconds whilst picking my bag up and it was the oposite side of the rail he was grinding anyway. I think my look was enough to shut him up, and i did gloat when he goat ejected later for trying ride the out of order mini.

I assume that was last night - muppets!!! I hate attitudes like that - no need at all. You should have wanged his board onto some roof somewhere!!!

Timmeh - North Allerton - not far from Leeds - happy for you to join me next week if you fancy it!!!
