some companies manage to make one great product but seem to fail on other stuff they do and get known for that one certain product , for example peregrine made superpros which were the best 48 spoke wheels to have in the 90's yet there frames, bars etc never managed the same, profile are well known for there cranks but how many of there frames do you see, it is strange that some companies can come up with great ideas once but cant repeat that in other areas

Have to disagree with you there Sam, Redline made a range of bikes that covered the full spectrum of BMX.  Early Redlines and the PL range in particular were fantastic bikes and the PL20 Carrera was the top dogs  .  The MXII was a much copied frame and fork combo and was a great ride to boot  .

 i was referring to the mx11 as i dont recall seeing anyone with a pl20, i think we had nothing but mx11's around here, and i had one myself, maybe that was a lower end speck frame and forks compared to the pl20, no offence intended...

i know where your coming from with the frame angles of the earlier stuff, but man, the pedigree n heritage speaks for itself and the frame geometry was well sorted and much more aesthetically pleasing by the time the PL's came out, hutch were the complete opposite, nice frames, fookin shite cranks!

The head and seat angles do look very slack compared to today's bikes (even compared to some old school bikes), but they didn't hold Stompin Stu back!

Generally there were more 500a/600a models around than PL20's bitd because they were the more affordable entry level models ( in 500a case ) . I saw quite a few 600a's bitd , well specced & priced for club racers .

For numbers Raleigh sold thousands of burners , they were very visible & lots of "normal" everyday bike shops had them . There were other options but back then not many knew of them , I got a Pro Star instead of a burner because I did'nt want the same as lots of others .
