Is this place any good as a spectator ?
as i dont have a spingey bike but could jump in with lee

or will it suck with out a bike

Plenty of viewing places and bring a camera. You'll wish you had a bike - it's soooo much fun!! Humps

JP, you don't need a springy bike. The 4X track and old duel track are still rideable on a rigid/BMX bike (springy bikes just make ya feel a bit braver). A cruiser would be better than 20" there.

If I can get James to get up early I'll be there about 11ish. It's ALL Keith's fault!! I've had to get myself a new dirt tyre instead of my Wormdrive XC tyre as the rearend kept breaking loose. By the way chaps a fullface is definitely the accepted headwear so don't think you'll look out of place with one on. Pisspots are OK for the dirt jumps though. Humps

We're gonna try to get there as early as poss b'cos we have to leave to get to the birthday party at about 2.30-2.45, but realistically we prob wont be before 11 either.

I'm gonna get you guys doing 'no chain' races!! The track is about 3 seconds slower if you cant pedal but really teaches you to ride better!!!

Cant find postcode but nearest town is Shefford on A600 just south of Bedford.

I just had a looked up directions to Shefford and it is only 1 1/2 hours from me. I really looking forward to this now, I havnt been on a proper ride for ages and chicksands looks like loads of fun. Come on Dingo, get yourself down there.

you sure i could make it down with ridged forks and only one brake $:-\$
still it will be fun trying....i think

Of course you can!! Just take it a bit easier than those nutters in the vid. If I can ride it, albeit on a XC bike with springy-thingys on the front, then I'm sure you can on a cruiser.

By the way, if anyone's interested in a cruiser there's a S&M RV on Talk for sale from a guy based in St Albans - pick it up en route unless I have a change of heart and get there first!!

Thats the good thing about ckicksands, it can be blowing a gale in the top carpark (which BTW is the best place to park as it near the 4x track) and when you get in the woods theres no wind at all! So no wind chill factor!!

Also theres no better place to be if it rains as the track is hardpack sand so takes it very well.
