The proper Profile tool is used for installing!!
For removing, the Profile tool is from the stone age.
Screw it in and use all that pent up anger and unleash the fury within!!
So whether you have the correct tool or not, its still hammer time!!
I had a pair from the US (unmounted but screwed up) that no amount of hammer action would loosen.
I ended up using a vice at work to squeeze the profile tool and using the bb cup (which was installed) to brace it (with some aluminium sheet to protect the cup)!!
It worked but the handle on the vice is bent to fook!!
And there was no damage to crank set!!
Get the biggest heaviest hammer you can find!!!
