1981 Cook Bros Display Kit

Here is my "labor of love", i guess you would call it. I got into collecting Cook Bros items almost 3 years ago. As i began collecting I always thought it would be cool to be able to appreciate all the items they made, together in one spot, instead of tucked away in storage bins, LOL. So as the last few years cruised by I made it a point to seek out the sweetest parts I could find, via ebay or the bmx sites, all either NOS or really dog gone close. Now after 30 months, she is complete, and it even got me an award this year at Rockford '08, Best 80's category, which my wife and kids were able to attend, making it an awesome Fathers Day weekend. Best part of the project for me was imagining it first, and seeing it through to completion, hope you guys dig it!, Claude

Claude, that is the most impressive display I have ever seen! (so I am alittle biased
)
Congrats on the award from Rockford.
That picture in the lower right looks familiar.
But I do have a real question, what's with the fork sticker? There was actually a Paramount Bike Shop between my house and Ralph's Bike Shop.
Again, cool stuff!!!

;)Thanks guys, much appreciated!!
Dennis, one day we can meet up so you can autograph that magazine that your flying across the cover on!!...is there anychance you know the person on the factory Cook catalog next to it?,,just useful info I would love to have........as far as the Paramount sticker it came with the forks and Im sure it is from the bike shop you spoke of, as I obtained many of the items you see in the kit from "Code Blue" way back when, the forks being one of them...I felt it sorta left a cool California "flavor" to it, so I decided to leave it, ;)Claude

Wow, even my wife was impressed with the way it was presented and she hates BMX's for some reason.

Claude, if you have access to that magazine in your display case, on page 36 is the guy from 'factory catalog'.
His name is Bill McIntyre. (Billy Mac) There is a chance he welded that frame, too. He worked at Cook Brothers for many years as a welder and 'somewhat' designer. He was an ass then and is an ass now. I'll leave it at that.
Hey Claude, if you like, I have extra copies of that magazine that I could sign now and send to you. Then some time in the future when we meet face to face I could sign yours. I don't have that red jersey but I do have my blue Ralphs jersey with Cooks down the sleeves. I also have the number plate from the cover shot. I could take a picture wearing the jersey and holding the magazine and the number plate. Heck, I still have the same bike. (it's white now)
Just a thought.

I love that
the fact that people are displaying this stuff and thinking of ways to present the other stuff like pads , and mags which connect the bikes themselves to the whole BMX thing
I hope to try something different this MK , but i think thats absoulutly superb
so yea well done fella
really nice job and hats off that the family is a stoked as you
