Hot seats came out with the plastic hub tuffs, i have seen green, lilac and babyblue.

i'm guessing you could get pink and orange aswell. they turn up every so often, difficult to put price on now as prices for bmx stuff has gone up quicker than petrol  :(.

I believe the hot seat was designed so you could run a straight post and spin your bars.
When running a regular seat you had to run a lay-back to allow your bars to clear your seat.

everyone rode the back in 88 as great for flatland as didn`t need a layback or used one with a layback and get your bars out of the way  ,problem was that rails used to  pull  through the back as plastic wasn`t that thick .  i must have had about 4 or 5 bitd . rare now  i only seen a few in 8 years of collecting  .
