Right I'm building an Oldschool Cruiser 40 Tooth Front Sprocket what size should the rear be to give me the correct ratio please.

Yep, Ideallly, it would be 39-17 so a 40 will be a little bit harder to pedal but still ok  :daumenhoch:

I concur. 40 / 17 is as good as it gets. Good for distance but you'll still be able to accelerate nicely too  :)
