When you retract your bid make sure you give 'fake item' as the reason for retraction

Why not report it to ebay while your at it

I've also emailed this joker this morning telling him the bike is not a haro and he should at least amend the ad to state its a replica (piss poor one at that) ive not had a reply yet... it'll piss me right off if i get all that 'one off custom built' bollocks....  >:(

It's not been mentioned yet that from the later part of 84 Master's Haro manufacturing would have been taking place in Taiwan. So how could he have had a custom one made in US mid 80's on a frame they no longer made and at what facilities? And if there was any truth about it being custom made and particularly rare you would have made a song and dance about it in the original listing to squeeze every penny out of it.

I'm so glad there are guys like you around, i'm not really that familier with early old school bikes and to be honest i can't say i ever paid that much attention to every detail of the bikes i owned, i'm not really big into the tech stuff at all, so i personally could have been easily fooled by this listing, and when i first saw this thread i was going to post asking what it was about the bike that screamed fake...but before i got around to it all you fine fellas answered it for me :daumenhoch:

Its a faro bidrstyler, cut and shut, front end haro rear end firebird :2funny:

Definately not a haro. Too many qusetions regarding where the serial is, what the serial is, shape of rear dropouts, that fooking great seat stay gusset, when and where it was made, perhaps Bob made it in his garag

Problem #1 Seat Post Gusset - looks like a Firebird

Problem #2 Front end DOES look like a Gen 1...

Problem #3 Twin Tube gusset TOO high  - on top! - to be a HARO...

Problem #4 Rear Drop outs wrong shape, serial# in wrong place - no coaster bracket...

Problem #5 Since when did Haro put their fork stickers half way up the forks...?

Problem #6 Can't be cut and shut with a Firebird - DP chain stays swept up from BB. Also didn't Gen 1's have machined BB's?

Hope this helps! I hate liars....

Here is his reply to me....  :wtf:

Quote
I bought this from the USA in the mid 80s and was told the seat post plate was a custom option hence the c in the serial number?

Why would they lie?

Also the finish is high standard and all the parts seem to be very high quality.
The welds are A1 quality and has handled many jumps, tricks with no damage to anything, even the wheels are still 99% true!
Has the original parts that are all execatly the same as you would exepct on any other standard haro.(e.g. mx900 brakes in adonised blue, etc...)
Am certain it is geniune.
Come here and ride it yourself!
I personally guarantee once you see it you'll know it's the real deal!

I almost cried "We have a winnahhhh!", then I noticed that the headtube isn't right and it doesn't have the seatpost plate. Damn.

Dropouts and twintube plate look spot on though....
