Just to mess things up for you even more if you measure a KYZ Frame the same as that picture the measurements are 13" and 11" well just over 13 and just over 11 actually.

 ??? that does throw  :10_2_12: a little bit. So if gremlin's frame was jimwise68 at sometime does that mean that it was a drilled out hot heart that had been chromed or a chrome E.T.
I think it say's over on jamies that some people confused the kyz as a chrome et but it's not. I read somewhere that after the popularity of the film died out some of the et frames were surplus and redone (maybe paint, maybe chrome) differently and sold on. I read somewhere the hot heart didn't come out til 83'. Confused!!! Just a bit.....
Question, were the same forks put on the kyz and the hotheart?

The Forks on Gremlins are the correct Forks for a KYZ don't know about Hotheart Forks.
The hole in the Gussett for a KYZ is always the large type and I think all genuine KYZ's are 1982.

The reason for changing the size of the hole to a smaller one was it was less likely to crack. All early KZ-1's have the large hole in the gusset and all KZ-2's have a small hole in the gussett.

KYZ's have the Large hole gussett because they are older Frames all 1982.

The frame set is supposed to be sent out to me as of today. So when it arrives during next week i'll have the chance to give it a good going over and compare it's dimensions etc.  :)
I'm looking forward to it  >:D   G.  :daumenhoch:

I've seen only 3 GENUINE E.T's EVER and many replicas whether KYZ or Hot heart

Yes Mr J.T Townshend has both and like he says measurement and geometry wise same

A Hot heart can be drilled to be exactly 22mm without doubt

Serials on ET's must start T2

Hot heart forks are the same as KYZ

and basically Only the GENUINE E.T's I've seen have ALL had the correct forks

and not TRX  and other Tange like 99% of the ET wannabees you se on here and the Bay

ALL early Kuwi's were made in the Tange factory and stamped with the same T till the K stamped laserlites ( Bodamus will correct me if I'm wrong  ;) )

Gremlin yours is a Kuwi but not originally an E.T ( no big deal , if you knew anyway )

And like has been said before also all the GENUINE E.T's aren't like Elliots in the film

because his was a KZ1
I even bet the guy's out of Kasabian isn't a KZ1, ( Div with too much money )

If you're going to buy something
FIRST DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE HANDING YOUR MONEY OVER

This subject comes up all the time

If people really want a GENUINE ET then get your wad out and buy J.T racings one

Better still buy a decent BMX

Having said that I've got one  :-[

hunterdubber what is the differance between original e.t. kuwahara cro-mo forks and tange trx's from the piccy's on jamie's they look the same?
As you said the frames were made in the tange factory hence the serial starting with a t. What were the forks stamped with, if they were made in the tange factory were they stamped tange?
Also i think this comes up time and time again for one reason, as we know there are an awfull lot of e.t wannabe's out there and in order for peole to do there homework the questions have to be raised.

I'll answer that one while I'm looking, TRX forks have a oval tubing , ET forks have round tubing but both have the same shaped drop outs.

Does the E.T have the same forks as the round tubed laserlite Kz4 Then?

no. as 84 laserlite forks have a ridge and K stamp on the dropouts and face forward like below. they have the same style fork that were found on the KZ1's

So they should.  I never noticed that before. Then again i never applied the decals, so never had to pay too much attention.  :daumenhoch:
If i do have a set of Trx painted up then i'll have to remember thanx m8.   G.  :)
