Who on here has a Rebel?
« on: April 28, 2008, 10:22 PM »
Im just wondering how many are about?  Im very intersted in buying anything Rebel, including frames, bars, padsets and race gear.

Ive read all the old posts, and I wonder who has anything now.

Not me, i think if i had known a bit more i may have kept one.

the frame felt as light as say a firebird, but the handle bars and forks were very light.

one of the ones i had was originaly green and the other white

 :)

Rebel only made white or chrome frames.  Possible that the green one was a FAZE 7, exactly the same frame but came in wider variety of colours I beleive.

I just got an Action Bike mag in the post with a full page Rebel advert and its made me want one even more.

I wonder if he'll do a swap for my Robinson?  I have spoken to the buyer of the Rebel about him selling it when its powered and re-decaled.  I'll try him again and remind him in a week or so.

I currently own all the bikes in my signature except the first one (was an Aero Reflex I sold that).  Others are a 85 Streetbeat, 90 Robinson Pro, 83 Skyway T/A and last but not least a Rebel / FAZE 7 freestyler frame only.  I also picked up another Aero Reflex on Friday that is also just bare frame / forks.

I bought that first Reflex a week before xmas... lol

its worth asking  ;), he told me he was a national rider and reading between the lines to get stuff given to you to race meant you were shit hot or your dad owned a bike shop.

i know he was after a set of robinson forks Danny  :D

how come there is new old stock aero reflex f+f's for sale, they don't seem dear, if they were Firebirds at that money i would buy them all no messing about, but i just can't bring me self to buy stuff i didn't have bitd, it just doesn't seem right  :P

Just been out and picked this up.  Rebel frame with the extra tube behind the seat tube.  Also got Sugino GT 3PC's, but rest of parts are newer crap.

Anyone recognise the bars?  Will have a proper look and strip down tomorrow, just plonked it in the shed for now.

look a bit like q bars.

put a post up in mid school.

phil will never sell his rebel.

he has better bikes, but always rides it at themeets.

good on him i say, i have a thing for rebels myself.

Are they any good?  Any distinguishing features to look for?

lot of flatlanders used them in the late 80s-90s from what i've seen. other than the middle cross bar there were a couple of differences on the end caps near the stem area. better off asking del or harris on here, they know about the peregrine stuff more.

Well they arent Peregrine Q bars.  They are copies I think, as the extruding bits at the bottom of the bars arent flat like the Peregrine Q's, they are angled.  I'll get a pic up later to confirm.

Meanwhile, stripped the Rebel frame down and the only problem is the seat tube is stuck tight.  Gonna try again tomoro.

And unfortunately the forks arent Rebel, they are mid school Redline, for a newer type stem.  Bollocks.  >:(

they still might be q bars as some had angled ends others had flat ends. the angled ones are a bit later i think. del has got both variations. stick up some pics of them so we can get a closer look.

Who did Motomag2 sell his Rebel to?
If you want the rest of that padset re-popping then contact Firebird.... He will sort them out    :daumenhoch:

I'll get a pic up tomorrow, they might be later ones tbh as they look exactly the same otherwise, same shape top bar.

EDIT:  After searching for pics, I think they are later Peregrine Q bars.  Are they worth much?  Dont know f all about mid school.

they are good bars, but not worth a forutune. why not keep them on the bike? i think they suit it with the double bar theme....

To be honest, I dont like em.  Bit too mid for me.  The bike is now fully stripped down to bare frame (and that damn seatpost) and im going to powder it white and redecal at some point.

Just need some Reynolds 531 forks now... >:(
