Couple of questions - Is OS expert or novice? What's a BC licence number and how do you get one?

Hi Steve, we need Ratty to confirm but I'm sure OS is an expert class this year. If so you need to check out BCF website and sign up for a race licence. I'm in the same boat as well. If you tell them it's urgent they will give you a number and usually can get them posted out pretty fast.

Worth checking with BC, but my understanding is:

1.  You don't need a licence to race regionals.........
2.  ....... But you do need at least a bronze/silver licence to race the Brits (so will have to get one anyway if you intend to do the Brits)
3.  If OS is a proper Brits qualifying class this year, it will need to be an Expert class as they don't have Novice classes at the Brits.

Here is some info on the membership:

If you raced novice in the 2007 series you should race Expert this year and have a BC licence which you can apply for here: http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/web/site/BC/bcf/20080220_joinbc.asp (Under 16's get free Silver membership, please read the form for more info) or call 0870 871 2000.

If you're racing just Regionals you only need bronze membership (not a licence).
If you're racing Nationals then you need minimum silver membership plus a racing license.

You can race OS as Novice, but you will need a licence to race the Brits. I havent confirmed details of the Brits as yet as apparently not all regions are going to have an OS gate :-\, I will keep you all posted as soon as I know more :daumenhoch:
A long time ago, in a land far away!

Although all week the Met office has said very heavy rain all day Sat and Sun, it now says sunshine for Sunday  :daumenhoch:
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

The only reason to cancel the race would be if the track was un rideable or a H & S hazard, as it's an all weather track the chances of it being cancelled are as close to nil as you'll get :daumenhoch:

I a should be there on Sunday with Vinoah as long as it aint pissing down like it was today.

If last year is anything to go by, the start of the summer season usually means it is raining cats and dogs
