cant see how the cog dont slide from side to side, am i missing a bit, spacer or something?

i dont think that will be enough will it ? between the sprocket and where the ring goes there is about 5mm

pete oddy cassette one is about 5 mm thick
and will have a spare one once me new rim arrives
hopefully not welded wrong this time
