South Woodham Ferrers - Looks a bit better now we have been working on it for the last 3 months.   The concrete start hill is still visable....

Here's the Chelmsley Eagles track but can't make it out from what I remember, such a shame, had some good laughs with mates down there. It's too the right of Chester Road, built on a hill, I remember it having a long steep start gate. Must pop down there sometime and get some proper pics

It,s a bit sad looking at the ruins of old tracks, but does bring back good memories, I remember the first time at C0cksmoors  Then going to Perry Park and "thinking this is hard work"  C0cksmoor being a downhiller i'd been pampered, less pedalling  :LolLolLolLol:
Any more pics old or new?

Nothing left of the Chelmsley track mate, still live local and drive past most days. Gutted that stopped riding 1988-1998 and track was levelled in 1997. When I started racing again in '98 had to travel to Chesterfield to race Dingo, gutted. My old man with a few other dedicated parents started the eagles and got the track off the ground. Lived down there 24/7 for 3 years solid. Many happy times down there both on and off our bikes. Still cant believe the frekin skateboard run opposite outlasted the track.

Jas, can't believe they flatened it :-\  no wonder I couldn't see it on Google Earth!! and yeah I remember the concrete skate area. I lived by Chelmsley swimming pool and used to ride around with Paul and John Goldengay (yeah thay was their surname), go to Stetchford Cycles and H Craig along Bordesley.

I've tried to search for track/Eagle pics on the net but nothing...would love to see some pics, the table top seemed massive. If memory serves me right the Eagles colours were Red/Black/White? The only bad memory I had was some k n o b nicking my goggles off me lid!!

Real cool to hear that you were involved with the Eagles from the start :4_17_5:

Paul ;)

I will try and get my old man to dig out some old photos of the track, I know he has some. I know about eight Goldengays, all of them work at Land Rover including a John who is about my age(38), maybe your mucca? Lived up by St Patricks school/Yeoman pub and went to Grimshaw. Would say small world mate but considering there were about 20 million kids on BMX bikes in the mid eighties then may be not such a suprise.

This is Poole track.

Dont seem to be able to do it as an image.  Still at least you can play with the zoom thing and also change the views of it.
