Latest purchase - Robinson RSR
« on: January 13, 2008, 03:14 PM »
I bagged this off eBay on Friday and after a bit of discussion with the seller about him posting an incorrect BIN we agreed a reasonable price higher than the BIN but lower than he came back with!  Drove up to Wigan to collect it last night before I went to Creation.

I didn;t realise that these were a limited edition and only 100 made (got that from the Robinson post in Racing), might give Alans a call myself to see if he has any decal sets to replace these ones!!!

I'm happy with it but it does some work.  A good mix of parts on it:

Robinson RSR Frame and Forks
Look like Mongoose Pro Class bars (same as on Craig's Robinson and Fishface's)
MX 1000 and Tech 3 lever
Suntour MS1100 stem
MX2 Headset
Tange BB
Sugino Cro Mo Crank, Spider and chainring
Suntour Beartraps
Chrome Araya's with chrome spokes, red nipples and sealed chrome hubs
BMX Racer tyres (never heard of them but they look pretty good but in need of restoration on the sidewalls)
Kashimax Aero seat
Robinson seat post
Suntour Seat Clamp

Drop outs are mint...

Chrome is shot on the rear rim as you can see

BB needs some cleaning up...

really nice that MartyC.

BITD you had to give the serial number and certificate number to get a replacement set of decals....Dont think Alan will be so anal now.
 :LolLolLolLol:

Does it have the serial number on the drop outs like other robos, out of interest what is it?

My looptail gussetless robo is 584**** with a P near it.

Alan does have a set of decals for the RSR , i was chatting with him last week but he was talking about silly money for them  :daumenhoch: . He only did about 100 of these bikes and only sold about 60  so if ya do the maths theres 40 somewhere but he didn't say where  :knuppel2: . They came in chrome and he did a few in red too .
If you ring him he will give you the full spec of the bike , he told me last week but i didn't write it down  :idiot2:

Nice find mate :4_17_5:

Cost me more than that as he reckons he made a mistake on the listing and I hit the BIN button before he could amend it, some friendly negotiation though and we had a price we were both happy with  :daumenhoch:.

Snav69, just cleaned up the dropout and taken a piccy, drop out has an E and not a P on it so an Expert rather than a Pro...

I'll give Alans a call tomorrow and see if it's the real deal and if I can get a sticker set out of him for it  :daumenhoch:.
