If you have a tow bar on the back of your car get a Thule EuroClassic G5 904 or something like that, less bloody hassell and less chance of marking ya car

Ifyou've got a tow bar i'd get the rack that fits on thta, i've had a few hairy experiences with the kind that strap onto the boot, lifted 2 boots on Mondeo's and bungees broke one time and all the bikes bounced along the A2  :LolLolLolLol:

Personally wouldn't dream of using a rack on a tailgate, seen too many mishaps.  Get a Witter towbar fitted and use a Pendle Bikes rack http://www.pendle-bike.co.uk/ Not cheap but I reckon they're the best so their tailgate versions ought to be good too.  I use a pair of bars when I've got the trailer hitched on and can get two bikes on but when not using the trailer can get three on comfortably.  And the same fixing enables me to use a triple-bike platform rack which gets the bikes nice and low on the rear of the car so you get good visibility which you don't have with the tailgate versions.  Humps
