Absolutely!  You might need to lengthen your chain. And the bike will be geared up significantly i.e. slower acceleration but ultimately a higher top speed   ;)  Longer cranks would help you spin it up   :daumenhoch:

yeah it would work. just means that for one revolution of the cranks you will travel a further distance.

however it will be harder to pedal. but once you get going it should be faster and less spinny if your doing a lot of pedaling.

why do you want to change it? as there may be other ratios to achieve same thing

Yeah, you could bang on one of those 15t freewheels. That would have a very similar effect and you wouldn't have to lengthen the chain.

only prob is to run a 14t yer goin to need a flip flop hub as it is smaller thred than a 16t , once yer got flip flop yer can go as low as 12t

44-14 or even 47-14 is FOOKIN tall!!!   You'd be able to do like 100mph, but you'd never get up a hill....  Unless your a proper athlete type person...

Running 16t on the back, you can feel the difference between 43,44 and 45 quite easily.  To make bigger jumps than that would be really significant  ;)
