Haro Gen 1 f/f
« on: November 30, 2007, 11:25 AM »
What do you think i'd be expecting to pay for one in an unrestored condition?  ???

And, does anyone want to sell one? If so, let me know first... I know Gen 1's aren't everyone's cuppa tea, but I do love em  :smitten:

Ta,

Matt  :daumenhoch:

I have one and it is unrestored but i wouldnt sell it. :smitten:

The more you have it the more you love it and they really are a good looking bike built up. I sold a rechromed f+f for £600 recently. If you are gonna get one then hunt for an original chromed one (IMO).

When i offered my survivor on here for a trade i was getting offered over £500 for the f+f so i would guess in that region.

I think they a priceless. I love them and i wasn't into them at all bitd. Infact if i am honest, you never saw one in my area (SW london). There were loads in the Essex area apparently and also more were sold to the UK than the US. Biagio told me that!  ???

Morning Nick, cheers for this info. I was expecting to pay (guessing here) £400+ for a survivor, so when you said it was about £500, I was fairly close. Getting one in a good condition is another thing, although I wouldn't pass up a rechromed one! They are desirable though and I must admit I never see on BITD neither, all I used to see around by where I used to live in Hertford was mainly TA's!

I don't think there will be anyone that will part with one but you never know... this thread may kick start something?  :daumenhoch:

Im no expert mate so dont quote me on what i said about price. I only went off what i got offered. I drove to Romford about 10 weeks ago to look at a GEN 1 a bloke on ebay was prepared to sell to me early in the auction. It had the wrong forks so i passed up on it and drove home as the bloke wouldnt take less than £400. It sold for £350 but wrong forks!

I bought a GEN 1 from the US as it looked cheap - £220 and i didnt get charged customs! NOTE that they are expensive bikes to build to get them looking just right. All the ones on here in the museum are real perfect builds and i bet would cost a fortune to build now.  Good luck mate. Ebay hardly ever has them on there!  ;)

I would seriously love to get my hands on one but the cost of building it is way beyond my financial resources and the wife's patience  :LolLolLolLol:

Frame and forks say £500
Vectors £100 plus
Grab ons (if you can gt them) £80?
Haro lever £30?
MX1000 brakes in blue £180
Haro seat post ? Never even seen one!
Blue shotgun £80
Pedals not alot
Reds flight £300
Tuffs £100 (Graffs name your price!)

I need to get mine re-chromed, once that's done I dont think I'l bother building it. I have a Gen1 replica which I built up and that has eased the desperation of having one built up.
A Gen1 f&f will look good on a wall...

Anyway, where's Rombloke with some pics?

There again.............freedom of choice. Why does it have to be built with exactly the same spec parts as you see on the bikes in the museum? You dont have to go the same. I was gonna put white tuffs on mine. :uglystupid2: Didnt in the end though. ;D The best bikes are not always the most expensive to build!

I built mine with all used parts apart from the grab ons, a tech 3 lever and tyres.

Infact i will post mine up tonight in the museum.  ;)

Sounds good. What about these replica's what do you reckon on those? I heard they are basically spot on to the original, if a tad heavier. Wouldn't mind a real one though  :daumenhoch:
