I picked up off of ebay a rusty old KUWI Lazerlite the otherweek. I just got my garage together and got a plastering bath and filled it with water and 2 bags of Oxalic. I stripped the bike and dunked her in for one day. She came out like this earlier after a polish. Trust me it was in a bad way. The frame is spot on. It has slight pitting, original decals are scratched and it has a small little and i say little flake on the chrome under the bottom tube. I aint rechroming her. I have fell in love with the frameset. Stunning set up and i am looking forward to building her.

Them ones are going on a chrome TA in the background. I am putting a set on this too though. Something different. I do love a Tuff me.

What's the build plan then Factory Spec expensive or Custom build.

Im not one for rechroming. Hate it. If im honest, i think it will be hard to source all the correct parts for it to make it a factory spec. Ive got loads of bits hanging around and i may just build it as i go along. I just ,for some reason, fancy putting some white alloyed hubbed tuffs on it. Dont know why, but........ Really great frame though. Cannot stress enough. I like a Kuwi.

Yeh Pete it did come with 1 3/8 wheels. Im gonna put them in the drink too whilst i got it left in the garage. Once they are out i will contact ya to see if you want them.

I bought the oxalic off some bloke on the net. Put in oxalic acid Ian. If not check out my profile (munners1975) and you will see where i got it from. They were a mare with the delivery time though. Get 2 bags full. I think it works better than just the 1. (2 kg that is.)

wow! did those stickers really survive the acid bath so well?

Oxalic doesnt take the decals off. Amazing. Be careful though as i have noticed that it can fade the annodize on some parts. Not sure if that is known yet.

I have loads of nuts and screws that were going rusty. I put them in last night and they are like new. I would also advise to spray whatever you put in the acid with wd40 afterwards.

I found a pic of the bike when i won it off of ebay. You cant really see how bad it was on here. You can see that the top tube was dull apart from where the pad sat on it. Infact the whole frame and forks was dull. When i pulled it out of the acid and hosed it down and cleaned it with a hot bucket of hot water and washing up liquid, it brought it back to life without even polishing. The polish just makes it more bling. i cant talk highly enough about oxalic.

oxalic is great for getting shot of the rust, but as you say the whole frame inside and out does need to be protected from the elements now though.

Ohh and don't put any alloy in it - it don't like it
