bike pump advice please
« on: October 09, 2007, 08:56 PM »
I bought a cheapish track pump made by vento to pump my tyres up but it keeps coming off the valves at about 45-55 psi, so am taking back for refund.
can anyone recomend a good pump please as i want at least 90psi in my hookworms, cheers.

what's wrong with a hand pump... and why aren't there clips on the down tube anymore to clip your pump onto...

I second that, 110psi in my hookworms without a problem.

Try putting a petroleum jelly or teflon grease on the rubber washer in the pump adapter as when the washer drys out it won't seal too well and will come off when the pressure gets high.

youre lucky dan!  all we've got round here is a chuffing JET petrol station!
and health and safety have been round and fitted an 80psi blow-off valve to the airline!
