Tuf Neck stem dismantling

Is it possible to take a Tuf Neck stem fully to bits? 

And if so, how do i get the main shaft thingy off the bottom block of the stem?

Yes you can dismantle them, ideally you need a bearing press type machine to push the shaft out as it won't damage the stem that way

Re-Anodising or super polish?

I stripped mine to get it re-anodised and it's come up a treat

I find resto work easier with no quill. I've recently finished this one ... Marty will remember this stem

i tapped my one out
and was super loose
when i refitted it
had to araldite it in to stop it moving

Thanks for the tips, I wanted to get it powdered, so think I'll just leave the stem attached if I might end up with problems later...

I don't think you will have problems with it but tbh I would not get it powdered they look better in the raw of anodised
