Puma GV...  they make oldschool Vans feel like 'Adidas Cambodia', those black plimsoles you has to wear in P.E...

And they've done a ltd run in SE type colours..

as i only ride OS
i only wear OS trainers

in my experiments trimm trabs dont grip at all
forest hills are very grippy along with stan smiths and nike wimbledons borg elites
plus borg elites work well but a tad to grippy

and im sad to say my vans are ok but grip better when the laces are undone
ask anyone who raced me at MK this year  ;D

I like to ride in either my 12 hole Dr Martins, or a nice set of Cowboy Boots  ;)

Get down to "Schu" (I think thats the spelling) on New Street in town Paul. Thats where I got those Vans I was wearing on Saturday. Sturdy, comfy and light. They've got a good selection, try em all on and take your pick.  :daumenhoch:

Went to TK Max in Brum (thanks bmxmatt for the shout) and they do indeed sell Duffs for £30, bargain. Not bought em yet, I've seen some lookalikes called Airwalk......should I avoid?

CJ - popped to Schuh and they have a good range...just a question of price is putting me off at the mo.

Airwalks are BMX/Skate shoes from long before Duffs. Everyone rode or rode for Airwalk from the late 80s through to the mid 90s.

Paul.....just get some cheap Airwalks if all you're going to do is ride in em?  people spend far too much on shoes because it's a 'brand' thing, and they worry that they have to wearing the right name or shoe.......who cares about names!! try em on and if they feel good then bobs your uncle  :daumenhoch:

i'll just take the pee out of ya next time i see you at Epic/creation  ;)

CJ - Matalan ain't bad bud, I've been there many a time for some great bargains, looks like you got a good deal there :daumenhoch:

Well after much looking I decided to go for Airwalks from TKMax £20 (apparently retail price is £55). Feel nice and comfy so far  and will hopefully do the trick of looking after my feet ;)

Thanks everyone, Trinny and Susannah have got nothing on you lot :LolLolLolLol:

WTF happened to airwalk?

seems they sold out to some random chinese factory over the past few years. Seems the only place you can get em now is in cheap sprts shops, and theyre a bit clompy too

like the OS Vans myself. not excessive in the cushioning department (understatement) but awesome grip on flatties. lack of cushioning isn't so much of an issue on my downhill mtb though!

Nice and comfy mate :daumenhoch: At first they felt a bit weird as they look quite wide and have a bit of a sole, but getting used to em.....don't think they'll improve my ridin though :(
