thought about it but i couldn't be bothered with the two month wait! and besides 20.5 is perfect for me.

a mate got a custom trls 250 a few years ago. can't remember what was different with it but he was stoked with it.

when we were there though there was a custom 250 in bear metal in the standard warehouse which looked awesome so they do have the requests!

Most BMX companies state "Actual Top Tube Length".  Maybe Standard quote "Effective Top Tube Length" which will explain why, when you take a tape measure from the top of the head tube to the top of the seat tube, you get a longer measurement than you expected (e.g. 21" frames coming up as 21.25").

Actual Top Tube Length is the norm for BMX frames.  Effective Top Tube Length is the more common way of measuring MTBs and road bikes.

My (probably flawed) attempt.....

1992 Shorty (flat/mini) and Lengthy (mini/street) Designed by Rick Moliterno and Krt Schmidt and manufactured by local (Davenport IA) engineering firm.

Reports of terrible finish quality. Standard pioneer(?) deep socket pegs.

1993 Manufacture switched to Waterford Precision Cycle for prototype STA.

1994 STA (Stronger Than All) (street/dirt) and Bicycle Motocross (race/dirt) and A-Headset system used in BMX for first time.

1996 Tao (pronounced Dow) non-platform flat bike designed by Paul Osicka.

1997 Trail Boss (dirt ) (now called trails) BMX/STA crossover designed by Robbie Morales.

1998 Shamen (flat/street/mini) non-platform slightly longer than the Tao flat bike designed by Bobby Fisher.

1999 Lengthy '2' (park/street) Burly STA with dropouts that went to 10mm at the hub designed by Jim Reinstra. Standard started the (unnecessary IMO) 500,250,125

after a fallout with Robbie Morales who took the Trail Boss monicker with him when he left to start T1 with Joe and Taj.

2000 Cashius (all rounder?) designed by Jon Luc-e Englebert.

2002 Bullitt (for the refined rider!) Designed by Rick Moliterno and pioneered the use of 'air hardened' tubing and smaller, lighter dropouts.

By this time the market was saturated. I lost interest as the BMX world stagnated (for me) I started to go back to my roots (VBMX) and here i am!

That's all i know.
