guys im back with no probs.
i have had a bad day or 3 and it did touch a nerve just a tad
thats my own fault ,usualy i would laugh along ,i can take stuff on the chin and laugh.
but i had been getting happy with my progress then had a set back yesterday and been a little grumpy.
i feel better today so you can bring the on slaught back on   ;)

i am a greedy sod , but as i cant ride i make up for it in restoring stuff.
so i have been like a stashing squirrel   ..dan   :-*

alex, can you remember where you got the large slams with the super-g sticker? i'm sure i had a pair like that, with that sticker, but i think tim goldie or someone like that ended up with them..

Sure do Gogo. They were on this bike:

I got it from the US on Ebay. I got a little stung on import charges but selling the cranks and wheels got me some of the money back. I just have the bars, stem and frame (and a few other small parts) left now.

The frame is a bit of a strange one. Its def a later Dirtbike, what with the U brake and all. The strange thing is it doesnt have a headtube / downtube gusset. The very early dirtbikes (GT made I think) didnt have gussets but I thought they all did after that.

Alex,

I just read the bit in your post that said, "I got a little stung on import charges but selling the cranks and wheels got me some of the money back."
A LITTLE stung? SOME OF the money back? From selling wheels & a crank?
How much did the Customs Nazis sting you for?

I forget (tried to forget) the actual numbers. I think the whole bike was going to cos about £250 all in but it ended up being closer to £400!! I got about £200 back for the cranks and wheels. I sold the Hoffman forks but I cant remember how much for. I also go a bit for the tyres (I think, or maybe a swapped them). If I sold the frame for a fair price I could maybe end up with keeping the bars and stem for a good price. Unfortunately, I have chosen to keep the frame too, so Im well out of pocket! haha.
