standard on a sunday afternoon
« on: August 19, 2007, 03:38 PM »
well it's raining and to avoid doing anything of real substance i put this pearler together out of bits in my cellar, workshop and loft..
i kind of like it better than my new bike.. haha

frame:  standard trls250 OX  got it at goodtimes iowa in 2001
forks:  macneil  (yeah don't ask... may have some peg bossed standards with ads to go on it)
front wheel : original superpro, got it in 1991..
back wheel: alex supra sigma on a superpro (suzue sealed) hub  king washers  :D this wheel weighs a TON and has the worst chrome i have ever seen barely clinging onto the rim!
shimano dx freewheel
pegs: hand grenades (sorry dan)  steel right, alloy left...
tyres:  1x v monster, 1 x v monster copy
gyro: an original one i filed out in 94 to go on an aheadset... the dirtskirt was cut out of an icecream tub
stem:  standard clamp on from 96 i think
bars:  standard strips. got them in 94
brakes ad990. oh yes.
levers: tech 99 so they go on the 1" part of strip bars so i could saw down the strip bars
cranks:  profile GT stamp, 175mm  profile evolution BB
BSD chainwheel  (like a fricking dinner plate, it's ace)
primo rod seatpost
fat ass haro padded seat
dragonfly double seatclamp.. got that in 94 from the dragonfly van at backyardjam
jive grips (off ebay.. my older ones are too nice and worn on my sunday to swop over)
and of course shimano dx pedals

whaddya reckon?  i am not going to clean it...

that is an original BSD 44t!! from 1999 or thereabouts??

10mm thick and I think they weigh about 500g compared to about 80g for a 28t these days

that's like rust between the hairline cracks on the paint.. (it's lived in a cellar) the paint job on early OX was terrible, it kind of flaked/cracked like that
