Skyway experts please help
« on: July 24, 2007, 10:14 PM »
A friend of mine just bought a beat of the bay, it came with alloy hub tuffs that were "recently regreased" and dead good. FIRST GO :knuppel2: the rear hub exploded. he has looked at axle/hub kits but just sent me pics of the freewheel and hub, there is no thread on either, I know fook all about old skyways so 2 questions, what is it and how does he fix it  :daumenhoch:

All opinions, suggestions encouraged and welcome

And Graham, he does not want to get some new spoked wheels  :LolLolLolLol:
Whats the matter Kid, don't ya like clowns? Don't we make you laugh? Aint we fukkin funny?

It might be worth dismantling an old shimano cassette road hub to see if any of the internals like bearings, pawls, etc can be swapped over.  If not, Dr Skyway might still have some replacement hubs, drill out the old one and screw in the new.  I'd try the resto method first and see if it can be salvaged  :daumenhoch:
