How do I remove spray paint from tuffs?

I was wondering if it is possible to remove silver spray paint from a set of black tuffs,not sure what to use incase it "bites" into the rims,anyone had any experience at this? :)

try diesel and soft plastic scourers or brillo pads go easy at first wear gloves
