hi all iv been offered a pair of araya airo s on sealed suntour hubs rims are black with red hubs how much are they worth ??

at the end of the day though its down to the condition

if they are grubby but straight and no flat spotd ,must be worth £40

if they are good must be £60 

if rims have flat spots ,,,dont bother more trouble than the worth

If the rims are in very good condition as are the hubs then your looking at around £130 - £150 as black Aero's are as rare as. Hundreds of thousands of Silver were made along with Gold, but black was not common at all. Suntour's sealed hubs are also very, very good and I'd say were better than Suzue's version.

If they're not in good condition then I'd say anywhere between £45 and £60 would be a fair price. remember that if the rim is straight with no gouges then you can have it stripped and anodised any colour you want.

so if they were black aero's with blask high flange sealed suntour hubs, they would be fortunes, as both are equally rare

ok been round mates house n seen the wheels  my self the front is a red ano high flang sealed suntour hub laced with black spokes which are little specled the rims are araya aero ano black but the ano is worn on the brake sides they run perfect no flat spots or buckels the hub is silky smooth , the rear is low flange red ano sealed suntour hub with black spokes with slight speckeling to  black ano araya aero rim with brake rub on sides runs perfect hub silkey to freewheel is not on as he put it on his skyways bitd when he took these rims off his ta n put em in his mums loft
he said they cost loads when new but wants me to make an offer on em

It'll cost you £35 to have the rims stripped and re anodised and about £20 for the hubs. You'll then have a great set of rims. Chat to Wolfy about rebuilding them as well becuase he's very, very good at doing wheels.

  well did as yer all said n offered £30 was told NO !!!!!lowest he will take is £70  a little to much for me  if anyone else wants to give him that much let me know n i will pass it on
