Mid 80's wheel question
« on: June 10, 2007, 07:43 AM »
I am toying with the idea of running some spokes on my Torker2, I currently have ogk gt performer mags on it, the question is, which were the strongest/most suitable wheels around 85/86?
Whats the matter Kid, don't ya like clowns? Don't we make you laugh? Aint we fukkin funny?

I think Peregrine HP48s or Araya 48s came out around that time.

Some 48 spokes would be the strongest  :daumenhoch:

Yep....Peregrine 48's are the future!

Still think they're a great wheel 20 years on.

Although Araya Aero's would be a very good choice too and were very popular on the freestyle front back then if you don;t want to stretch to the Peregrines  :daumenhoch:

if i can get a picture my mates from wheel is a custom drill perigrine 48 rim and suzue hub, 97 spoke wheel 8 cross pattern, its insane, reason for odd spoke number is due to valve hole

lol cheers. I've seen others that are more rounded on the stem bar ends and have a hole either side. mk2s sort of curve up into a point on the stem bar a bit like kneesavers. definitely q's. sorry this has turned into a bit of a q bar thread. lol
