Latest Build - Funky Aero Reflex
« on: June 07, 2007, 10:17 PM »
Like many of you, I try to add a little something to my builds. Until now I hadn't built an old school, so went with the Reflex primarily to have a bit of fun. Bear in mind this is rider, so the sprayed parts will be chipped in a week. My previous rider was a mid school GT, but to me it didn't feel right. I'm twice the weight than I was bitd so I put it down to being a fat bast@rd. As soon as I gave the Reflex a shot this afternoon I was like a pig in sh!t. This was what I remember. It must be the geometry of the frames compared to back then. Hope you like it as much as I know I will.

Parts being:
Aero Reflex Frame and Forks
Skyway wheels and brake pads
NOS copy CW bars
SR stem
Tioga headset
copy MX1000 brakes and tech levers
Viscount dyno seat
Sugino chainwheel and cro mo crank
Shimano SX pedals
Od Burmuda Bluewall Tyres from Ginnys

Special thanks to Del for all the decals inc Sugino on chainwheel. Top man. They really freak you eyes when you look at them and PP (Iain) for advice, especially for pointing me towards ESP powder coating in Glasgow. V good.

I'd really appreciate your comments. Good or bad. Either way it'll turn a few heads.

Looks really good - a good colourway, Del's decals are the business aren't they  :daumenhoch:

I'd drop the stem down if you aren't using a flex fighter as that stem will flex a lot and will bend, especially with those bars and todays body weight  :LolLolLolLol:

Glad you're happy with the decals too.

Hi Paulo :daumenhoch: That colour scheme reminds me of the Le Mans Gulf Porsche 917, was that intended ::)

It hadn't but obviously great minds think alike.  ;D

It was inspired by the colours on my boys T-shirt. I thought they looked really cool so wondered how I could make up an OS without recking a really good frame and forks. The Reflex was the answer.

Top job Paul - came out very well  :4_17_5:
It's nice to see something different from the norm and the bright colours definately remind me of the mid 80's  :daumenhoch:

I think I've shot myself in the foot so to speak as I love the 80's colour styles, however my new school is a lovely shade of black, with a hint of battleship grey, mmm yes :buck2:!!
