In the 80s I worked in a bike shop called Thakes, owned by Nick Thake. He got in a load of silver foxes but got them direct from the factory in the far east. He got them to change the "MT" on the stickers to "NT" cos that was his initials.

As far as I remember, the frames were just steel (not cro mo) and quite thin so very easy to brake. A Mate of mine was riding one with redline stickers (not many frames didnt have gussets so the Fox was a good bike to make a fake redline out of .... if you ignored the 4" headtube). He did a little jump and came down front wheel first and folded the whole front end of the frame, top tube and down tube bend in half.

So the Forks must've been by far the best BITD  (they must've took the brunt of the impact )

BMX Action bike #10 gives these bikes a good review on their test

The top 2 models WERE cro moly

They came with a few decent components too !

I seem to remember at the time the top ones were around the same price, or a bit more than a Silver streak , so not expensive

I didn't get one though, they didn't have the right LABEL  ;D

yes i remember these as i used to be sponsored by the 'fox factor'...

the importer was based over at  ashford in kent. i worked at the warehouse for about a year as well.

nice well spec'd bikes you know. godd welding on the frames etc etc... however they never came with any grease in the b/b bearings.

guess what????........ that was my job to take the bike out the box grease the bearings and put the bike back in its box.....yawn yawn  :LolLolLolLol:
