Oh no not another HARO - My first build finally done.
« on: April 27, 2007, 09:46 PM »
Sorry to those who have had enough of HAROs but ..................

Just finished my first build. Its my old gen1, this is how I wanted it BITD but I never had the cash to spend on it. It very nearly didn't get done because I gave it away  :crazy2: to someone a few years back and when I found this site and saw everybody elses HARO builds (RomBloke/Jay  :daumenhoch:)  I went and got it back.

Thanks to those members who have helped me out with advice and parts (Mark J, Scary_leary,mightynimrod,dordymush)  :daumenhoch:

I just can't help looking at it, I think it is beautiful I hope you like it to.  Sorry for the amount of photos but I just couldn't stop clicking  :D

As it was 84- 85ish :-

I love cherrypicker  :D

Big air   :D

This is how it eventually ended up :-

As it is now :-  :smitten:

Yes it was me that spent fortunes on the Blue Tech 3's        It was the last thing I needed  :'(

I hope you like it. I do  :)

Cheers
Andy.

Rundown of parts:-

Haro Gen1 F&F Rechomed
Skyway Tuff2's (with a little mongoose on them)
Rechromed Full Wrap Redline 401 Flight Cranks with NOS Mongoose BB
Redline Chainring
KKT Rat Trap pedals

Rechromed GT seatpost
NOS Dia Compe MX1000's
NOS Dia Compe Cables

Very nice  :daumenhoch:
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

Cheers chaps for the comments  :daumenhoch:

The chroming was done by Leigh Metal Polishing Services Ltd
Unit 6a, Harcourt Industrial Estate, Harcourt St, Worsley, Manchester, M28 3GN - 01204 861022

Scary Leary pointed me in their direction. They took a long time to do it as they were busy (about 10 weeks) and it wasn't cheap  but considering the amount of pitting on the frame they did a great job with the prep work.

And another one...
No offense to the other ones, this is a very lovely build  :smitten:.

This one is sooo special with the story behind it.

You have what money can't buy (not speaking about the tech 3, lol)
I love it, I guess not as much as you do.

Specially digging the before/during/after pics.

And what a job they did on chroming ! :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:

Thanks again for all the comments   :daumenhoch:. It does make it all worthwhile that other 'like minded' people appreciate it. I showed it a few lads at work who know nowt and you can imagine what they said. :idiot2:

I know what you mean. I've just finished my Gen 1 build too. I came downstairs the other night to see that loads of the girls visiting my other half had put their coats on it. Not impressed!  :2funny:
